Biography

Gabi was born in Yogyakarta, Indonesia and moved to Munich when she was very young. She mostly grew up in Unterschleißheim and during her final years of school developed an interest in chemistry. After her Abitur in 2019, she started studying Chemistry and Biochemistry at the LMU Munich. Currently, she is doing her Bachelor’s thesis at AK Konrad in Organic Chemistry where she synthesizes new probes for a library of cysteine thiol and cysteine sulfenic acids-reactive fragments which are later tested for their capability to initiate ferroptosis in advanced cancers. Additionally, she is studying the keystep in a total synthesis of Erythraline alkaloids. In her free time, Gabi enjoys baking cakes and other pastries, going to concerts and singing in church choir.
