Manjima grew up in the state of Kerala, India. She completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree (BS MS dual degree program) at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Pune. She performed her Master’s thesis at the Department of Chemistry at IISER in the group of Prof. Harinath Chakrapani, where she developed an enzyme triggered persulfide donor for the persulfidation of cysteine residues. Her research interests lie at the interface of medicinal chemistry and chemical biology, which led her to join the Konrad group to work on developing red-shifted photoswitchable lipids. Besides her research interests, she loves to explore new places and plays badminton.
