Biography

Mohamed was born and raised in Munich, Germany, where he started studying Chemistry at the Ludwig-Maximilians Universität (LMU). He performed his Bachelor’s thesis in the group of Prof. Knochel working on the functionalization of heterocycles with Turbo-Hauser bases. He continued his Master’s studies at the LMU where he completed an internship in the group of Prof. Klapötke gaining insights into the synthesis and characterisation of green secondary explosives. Later, he pursued an internship in the group of Dr. Thorn-Seshold which strengthened his interest in pharmaceutical chemistry. He is excited to join the Konrad group for his Master’s thesis and continue on this field by working on the development of small molecules in the context of ferroptosis and anticancer research. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, video editing and going out with friends.
