Lea grew up in the Munich area and studied chemistry and biochemistry at the LMU. From the beginning it fascinated her to connect organic chemistry to solve biological problems. She performed her Bachelor's thesis in the group of Prof. Carell, looking into syntheses towards artificial nucleosides for investigations into an active demethylation pathway. During her Master's studies she spent one semester at Lund University, where she deepened her interest in medicinal chemistry. After gaining experience in the field of superacids while working in Prof. Kornaths Group, she is excited to improve her organic synthesis skills and understanding in the Konrad Group. In her free time she enjoys cooking and playing in a brass band.
