Lena was born and raised in Nürnberg. She studied biology and chemistry for teachers at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg. After completing her Bachelor's degree, Lena decided to pursue a research career, which led her to enroll in the Master's program in biochemistry at LMU Munich. After a six-month chemical internship at Roche Diagnostics and a two-month internship at the Carell Group at LMU, she decided to combine her interests in biology and chemistry and joined the Konrad Group for her Master's thesis. In her free time, she enjoys vegetarian cooking, gardening, and spending time in the alpine foreland on bike, foot, and stand-up paddleboard.
